Enshrouded showcases 1.0s Sparkworks feature that lets players build their own devious dungeons

We are now days away from the multiplayer survival sandboxEnshrouded making its full 1.0 release, and that means Keen Games is keen (zing) to highlight one more major feature beforehand: the Sparkworks player logic system, otherwise known as an expansion of the custom content system that was added back in April.

Sparkworks effectively turns a building sharing feature into something more, allowing players to additionally spawn enemies, create events that are triggered by player actions, and more. It starts by crafting a special switchbox and a tool, as well as additional triggers like buttons, levers, and traps. Players then place the switchbox somewhere in the shared building, then access switchbox to link inputs to outputs to create a logic circuit, which are visualized in a flow chart UI.

Given examples of how this tool works include simple things like a rudimentary spike trap with a timed gate opening, spawning enemies that must be defeated to progress (though only enemies players have defeated and not unique bosses), water puzzles, and traps with shootable off switches, just to name a few. The devs promise there will be an in-game tutorial to show players how it’s done, as well as an example dungeon that players can dig around in to see Sparkworks triggers more directly. For now, the video below offers a good baseline for what the system is capable of.
