What’s more dangerous than a boss? An archboss. Above that? An ascended archboss. And above that, in the logic ofThrone and Liberty, is a snowsoul. What’s a snowsoul? Well, Snowsoul Weapons are the new equipment tier above Ascended Archboss Weapons, and you kind of have to change your naming scheme there to avoid too many adjectives on your boss. You will stillneed Ascended Talandre Archboss Weapons to create a Snowsoul Weapon, though, so don’t think you can just skip over the entire ascended archboss deal.
The update also adds several new achievements that players can complete in Nix, such as destroying Snowwind Stones and feeding a stowaway cat. On the flip side, the field event improvements also means that some older Nix achievements are no longer possible to achieve, and they have correspondingly been removed. There are a lot of changes to how the Nix areas work in general, in fact, so it’s a good time for player to head out into the snow for a wide variety of reasons. Maybe the real snowsouls was ourselves. No, that’s silly, never mind.
Readers will recall that this final August update was meant to be the Colossus Vegamor update to Nix, but since Amazon is in the process of dismantling its publishing arm and sending the game’s publishing back to home studio NCsoft, it delayed that major content into September. So for now, we’ll have to settle for the Nix weapons, baddies, and cheevos.
