Lost Ark completes its server merging after over 24 hours of maintenance

This past Wednesday, Lost Ark beganits great big server ensmooshening, condensing the game’s total servers down to just five. So naturally we have to check in on how it all went, and the news is that things were not exactly swift or smooth sailing, at least by all official accounts from the game’sTwitter andDiscord.

Some of the first granular updates arrived just after noon on Thursday, with word that EU server merges were moving faster than NA ones. As maintenance and merging passed the 24-hour mark, Amazon Games pointed out that there were no immediate issues but caution was being taken to ensure things were being done right.

Both regions reopened in the afternoon on the following Friday, though NA servers had to be abruptly taken down a few minutes later to address an urgent but unspecified issue and came back up after around 30 minutes of downtime. In terms of compensation for the long downtime, players were given consumables, currency, and item selection boxes upon login.

Unfortunately, the woes for NA players haven’t completely abated, as an apparent exploit of Elysian levels of Paradise content has been temporarily blocked as of this past Saturday, with no ETA on when it will come back online. Considering how badly things could have been, we suppose this is about as good of an outcome as one can hope for.
