The New Denpa Men is heading toward the end of its run. Developer Genius Sonority has confirmed that the free-to-play RPG will shut down in December after roughly two years of service. The game originally launched on Nintendo Switch in July 2024, before making its way to iOS and Android in March 2025, and then Switch 2 in April 2026.

So, what’s the date when The New Denpa Men is shutting down?

The shutdown is scheduled for December 6, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. PT, which corresponds to December 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Japan. Paid item sales have already stopped as of October 5th, 2026. The affected purchases include Jewels, Jewel Packs, Value Packs, Stamina Expansion Packs, Create Packs, Yasuo Packs, Training Packs, and other paid items.

After the service ends, unused currency purchased with real money will be refunded. The exact refund period and the method for requesting one will be announced on its website after the service ends. Also, any events running across the service termination date will end early.

And why are they shutting it down?

Genius Sonority decided it would be difficult to keep providing a service that met player expectations. It is, unfortunately, the classic live-service problem: keeping the lights on forever is rather more complicated than simply having a charming bunch of tiny RPG characters running around.

Played the game yet?

The New Denpa Men comes from The Denpa Men, franchise, which debuted on Nintendo 3DS in Japan. It acts as a modern continuation and adaptation of earlier Japanese spin-offs, including Denpa Men’s RPG FREE! and New Denpa Men’s RPG.

The New Denpa Men is available on Android through the Google Play Store and on iOS through the Apple App Store. The mobile version includes cross-platform data carryover from the Nintendo Switch version. If you haven’t played it yet, you get three months to experience the game (at least on the surface).
