Assuming you’re not chasing a relic weapon, a top-tier crafting tool, or some of those raid clears inFinal Fantasy XIV, you’re probably attempting to push through the Beastmaster limited job’s Crucible of the Unbroken. If that’s the case, thenthe latest patch dished out this week has some things you’ll care about, both in terms of adjustments and for the mode’s first season.
In terms of Crucible adjustments, those include a Crucible board’s difficulty being temporarily saved, while the difficulty used in a previous attempt will be made the default until logout; automatic filling of beast teammates if it consists of three or fewer members; and increases to the score for defeating enemies and the Sleepless Survival score bonus. Readers will recall this as the balance patch that Creative Studio III referenced before.
This aligns nicely with thestart date for Crucible’s first ranked season, which will be Sunday, October 25th. Players who care to climb this leaderboard must select Third Degree difficulty and tick a box that confirms they want to participate in rankings, while the current standings for a server will be published on a dedicated page on the MMO’s site. An end date for Season 1 will be announced later.
As for the rest of the patch, that otherwise begins same-region player matchmaking for Japanese data centersas promised and a lineup of bug fixes for the Beastmaster and the Crucible of the Unbroken. So really this patch is almost entirelyBeastmaster focused.
