On the 11th, 2K announced the release of the sixth Vault Hunter, «Loveless the Hacker,» along with two new paid DLCs for Borderlands 4, the looter-shooter developed by Gearbox Software.
‘Story Pack 2: FL4K and the Last Resort’ is set on the tropical island of Providence and follows the story of teaming up with FL4K the Beastmaster to rescue their skag companion, Mr. Chew, who was captured by elite Tediore forces. The expansion features missions such as infiltrating a volcanic bunker, exploring jungles using ziplines, and invading ‘Digiverse’ servers, as well as new enemies and mini-bosses.
The newly joining «Loveless the Hacker» is an Anshin-born hacker-turned-assassin. She summons Wyrm, a physical manifestation of a virus she created, onto the battlefield, utilizing a combat style specialized in critical hits, status effects, and Corrosive and Radiation elemental attacks.
In the simultaneously released ‘Bounty Pack 5: Amara and the Vile Shadows’, players investigate dimensional anomalies occurring in Vile Lictor’s old laboratory on the moon Elpis alongside Amara. Repeatable missions, a main boss, mini-bosses, and new enemy types have been added, and players can earn skins, a vehicle, an ECHO-4 drone skin, and gear.
Through the separately sold ‘Vault Card 5’, players can unlock 24 cosmetic items and 4 pieces of rerollable gear through gameplay. The base game is required to access each DLC content.
The Version 1.10 update released on the same day raises the maximum level cap by 10 levels and applies balance adjustments for Vault Hunters.
To celebrate the update, 2K is also holding a free-to-play event for the base game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). In Pacific Standard Time (PST), the event ends at 11:59 PM on the 13th for Xbox, and at 10:00 AM on the 14th for PlayStation and Steam. An Xbox Game Pass subscription is required on Xbox, while PlayStation Plus is required on PlayStation; progress and achievements made during the event period will carry over if the full game is purchased on the same platform.
