Anyone who earns the title of “god butcher” is probably bad news, but in the case of the superhero PvP shooterMarvel Rivals, the arrival of a god butcher is a good thing, at least if you like playing the Duelist role. That’s because Gorr the God Butcher will be arriving to the game with the release of Season 10: Butcher’s Blasphemy on Friday, September 11th.
This new character brings his shape-changing All-Black sword, which morphs into various deadly forms depending on the battle situation, then feasts on fallen foes to convert them into black berserkers that can be unleashed on the enemy. He also has the ability to teleport short distances through symbiotic power and unleash an ultimate that sends all active berserkers into a slaughtering frenzy. So not a cuddly guy.
Later updates through the new season will introduce new events on September 18th, the return of the Galacta’s Gift event on September 24th, and of course, the usual suite of balance adjustments to the game. It’s all coming next week, but there are trailers to see Gorr in action below right now.
