WRUP: Absolutely true facts about The Wolf edition

Just sheep.

  • The Wolf has been here before your species descended from the trees and it will be here long after you are dust.
  • The Wolf will eat your sheep.
  • The Wolf is tough, but fair.
  • The Wolf is most active when you are not watching.
  • The Wolf will eat your cattle.
  • The Wolf can hear you when you are sleeping and it knows what you did in secret.
  • The Wolf will eat your oak tree.
  • The Wolf will eat theDouble Burger Challenge at Mike’s Burger Pounder! We’ve piled two, that’s right, two one-pound hamburger patties on top of one another, added bacon, more bacon, cheddar cheese, American cheese, Mexican cheese, Swiss cheese, pickles, kimchi, ketchup, barbecue sauce, more pickles, onions, peppers, jalapenos, more bacon, Canadian bacon, and fourteen slices of ham onto a single burger! Then, to top it off, we’ve poured liquid mercury onto the whole thing and waited until it has soaked in! Eat the Double Burger and be annihilated from reality, but if your ghost comes back to haunt us, we’ll sacrifice a goat in your honor!

Bonus question: What’s the most anxious you’ve ever been waiting for an important piece of information?

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna.bsky.social, blog): I’m hoping to do some more City of Heroes this weekend! Been playing some old characters and trying out some new-to-me powersets. I had forgotten how good Symphonic Control is!

(I don’t wanna answer the bonus because it’s too much trauma)

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes.bsky.social, blog): All of the trailers pouring out of Monster Hunter Wilds have got me jonesing for that game again, so I’m very likely going to feed that need. I’m also going to do a bit of Final Fantasy XIV just to shake off the Gunbreaker rust ahead of the next major patch, and I’ll probably dink about in City of Heroes in between it all. Oh, and there’s a demo of Final Fantasy Resonance that I want to check out.

Bonus: Honestly, any time I have a job interview it’s pins and needles waiting to hear back about it. Even if I feel confident that I nailed the initial meeting, I’ll always be a mess until I’m told yes or no. Probably not a particularly distinct answer, but it’s definitely the most frequent.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Prepping forFFXIV’s patch on Tuesday and also getting some ducks in a row inWarframe ahead of that patch much, much later than Tuesday. May this be a bright September, long time coming.

I can very strongly relate to Chris’ answer here, but since I don’t want to just repeat him, I’m going to pick something else: Waiting to see what happened with Massively Overpowered’s Kickstarter when we started it. I had really been a voice in favor of it and I knew how big a deal the first day was. When we came out swinging? I felt like dancing. I had made myself soundway more confident than I was.

Justin Olivetti (@Sypster, blog): I’m probably going to soak in a bit of Lord of the Rings Online early zone vibes as I oh-so-gradually make my way through Bree-land (it’s big!), and if Daybreak answers my ticket and resets my account, I’ll be rolling up a new character in Palia. I’ve also been playing some Octopath Traveler, which is all sorts of JRPG comfort gaming right there.

Sam Kash(@samkash@mastodon.social): Last weekend was all tied up in the gaming space. I was so busy I hardly had a moment to myself. I’m going to try and make up for that with some Gloria Victis and Eternal Strands. Eternal Strands so far has been keeping true to it’s name! Eternal… soon I’ll complete it! I’ve also got a good evening planned for some Odalin board gaming.

Bonus: recently I was fairly anxious to find out whether my oldest was going to make the volleyball team… She did not. What a bummer.

Tyler Edwards (blog): Continuing the grind in World of Warcraft. Bad news is RNGesus is not giving me drops for the slots I want, good news is I’m having a lot of fun testing myself against high level delves. Just beat my first T11 with zero deaths while 15 points below the recommended ilevel.

Bonus: Waiting for a decision on my disability application. I’d been rejected I think twice because of my incompetent doctor and was on my final appeal. Thankfully I did finally get approved after months of struggle. There’s actually a bit of a gaming tie-in to that story. I got a lot more confident when I was chatting to my lawyer and found out he was master league in StarCraft II. A man who can do that can do anything.
